I've seen this a few times in freestyle in more "open" leagues but never in HS. Personally, I think it's crazy. Especially if you keep your eye on his spine during the move. Eek! On the other hand it's pretty tough to argue with success!
There were some similar "big moment" moves that were all the rage in the late '80's. With most of them if you opponent just stood back and let you do your chicken dance you'd land off balance in a bad spot to defend yourself probably giving up the takedown if not going right to your back.
We all spent two summer vacation weeks at some roach/louse/flea infested college in South Carolina to learn the "granby" in 100 degree / 100% humidity weather. We practiced 6 hours a day in that s**thole. I don't think I tried to use it once in a match. I do remember leaving with some strange skin conditions.
