New info on installing UT3 Custom Maps

Downloaded UT3 maps may have TWO .ini files (with the same name) in their .zip or .rar archive file.

I have added info in the FoS Wiki article on installing UT3 maps on what to do with these.

Sigh...had to be complicated again.

Also: why the heck do they have to be on your C:\ Drive.....I have a small partition on C destined for the OS only, no other crap I want there....

Add the "-nohomedir" parameter to your UT3 shortcut(s) and everything gets saved in the UTGame subfolder of the folder where you installed UT3. This is discussed in the FoS Wiki article.

Kewl thanks, did not notice the first time. I do use that parameter as part of the server startup, didn't know it also applied to the client.

O.K couldn't add the -nohomedir parameter to the startup shortcut. Had to make a .bat file instead.

Now I'm gonna guess that the next time I start the game all my settings, login etc will be gone....

You *should* be able to move (copy may be better) the files from the C: drive folders to the "UT drive" folders and get your settings back.

Also, create your own shortcut to UT3.exe, rather than using the one the install prog created, and you should be able to put in the -nohomedir param.
