Retirement Home UT2004 Question

I was on retirement home last night for the first time playing excessive jailbreak.

I could hear the voice from ERAD just fine, but couldn't figure out how to set up my voice options to work in UT so I can talk back.... and yes I have a voice activated headset with mic that does work in vent.

Any help would be appreciated.

Ok, in UT2004, go to Settings > Input > Configure Controls: Under the "Communication" section, select a key to use with "Activate Microphone". Also make sure that the letter "V" is configured for "Speach Menu" .
To talk in UT2004, you will then use the key you bound to "Activate Microphone". Press and talk.

Also, to choose if you talk to just your team, in the game hit "V", 1, 1, 3, or to talk to all (Public), "V", 1, 1, 1.

Why do it the hard way erad. Instead of worrying about input just look for "Speak in public channel" and set it to whatever key you feel comfortable with. It will change you from team speaking to public speaking. Makes things much easier .

I got it working, thanks for the help everyone.
Heh, I did have my microphone plugged into the wrong port on my sound card. I didn't put back in the right place after returning and connecting everything after the Smiley LAN.

I found that if I use Vent with UT on my modamn, it causes me noticable lag when I speak. I'm sure this is not a factor on a high speed connection.

I haven't noticed the same effect with the in game UT voice and modamn.

Oh that's right. Sorry G-man, I keep forgetting about the modamn. In game voice good!
