Wouldn't SLi still give you better output?

A SLI system performs better, yes.
This card is basically Nvidia's way of trying to steal the single card performance crown from ATi. In a way it works, its very expensive though, and makes little sense right now with Vista (yeah, laugh) apporaching.
Its two cards glue'd together that only need one PCIe slot to plug into. While only needing one slot, there has been no successful use of it on non-SLI motherboards, so what's the point? None really.
Nothing but a media stop gap and for Nvidia not to look totally blown away by ATi.

I have a Leadtex 6800 SLi vidoe card. It is great. I am about to upgrade to a 7900GT SLi card here shortly.

I wouldnt recommend it.
G80 from Nvidia is coming out relativly soon, around October most likely, possibly sooner.
It'll support DirectX 10 and things like that.
Also, the 7900 series is not really as good as the ATi X1900 cards, sub par image quality and also a little lacking in performance.

That may be true, but I can't constitute spending $400 for the ATi X1900. While I can pay $270 for the 7900 GT.

this related to the Quad-SLI options I've seen at Dell & Alienware with those 7950 cards?

You can do Quad-SLI as a consumer now also, its a terrible waste of money though. There are MANY bugs in the drivers, and you get next to no improvement over your normal SLI setups.
Add to the fact that even a Quad-SLI (read: $1200 video card setup) will be out classed in both features and performance by the upcoming G80 and R600 from Nvidia and ATi. And there is no reason, or ever was for that matter, to own a Quad-SLI setup.

//removed as to not offend.
Use google or better yet goto the manufacture's homepage. I haven't been there in years and I found it in about 30 seconds. Read the readme, hint using *Search* for SLI will get you your answer in seconds.

sorry but at the time I had no time to "do a search" on google. I usually do but didnt have the time to do it now. besides those are just drivers and not SLI support. Just because there are drivers for the card doesnt mean linux will recognize and use 2 boards correct????
