That's still fast! Maybe because you've been using such old drivers and never got to experience some of the nice performance increases that come with them.

All but the ultra high end is either the same speed or below compared to last generations high end. And now the Geforce 6 series is exact same feature wise as the Geforce 7 series.

The only real difference will be coming up around October when DirectX 10 cards start showing up.

Head over to Guru3D to grab the hacked version of the 91.45 that work with the Geforce 6 series and above.

The big news is that these drivers give Geforce 6 users transparency AA. Trans AA smooths out transparent textures, this is a HUGE improvment in image quality, pervious you could only get this on the Geforce 7 series for Nvidia card, but its not here for us with Geforce 6s!

Here's the Guru3D link: http://downloads.guru3d.com/download.php?det=1468
Do I need to download it from Guru3D or can I download it from any site?

ok I dont have time to look into it right now but now my computer will not shutdown nor will it reboot without me holding my power button until it powers down that way. I am thinking I need to remove these drivers and go back to 77.77 again.

Yeah, some issues may come up if you dont remove your old ones.

Also, yes you must download from Guru3D. They're the only place that I know that have the correct working hacked version. The one at Nvidia's site is non-hacked and only works with their 7950GX2 card.

Yeah I think im going to have to completly uninstall my card. I ran driver cleaner after I installed rebooted and then reinstalled and thats when the problem of rebooting started. I did it correctly on my wifes computer and she has no issues with rebooting.

*edit ok I started over and did it correctly and its working fine now lol.
