New GeForce driver confirms upcoming GPUs

» New GeForce driver confirms upcoming GPUs

NVIDIA's recently released ForceWare 101.41 drivers for Windows Vista not only bring SLI support to GeForce 6/7 users and OpenGL performance improvements, an inquistive user on VR-Zone's forums discovered that the driver's INF file also confirms the presence of six new GeForce GPUs, including a new GeForce 8800 Ultra:
NVIDIA_G80.DEV_0194.1 = "NVIDIA GeForce 8800 Ultra"
NVIDIA_G84.DEV_0400.1 = "NVIDIA GeForce 8600 GTS"
NVIDIA_G84.DEV_0402.1 = "NVIDIA GeForce 8600 GT"
NVIDIA_G86.DEV_0421.1 = "NVIDIA GeForce 8500 GT"
NVIDIA_G86.DEV_0422.1 = "NVIDIA GeForce 8400 GS"
NVIDIA_G86.DEV_0423.1 = "NVIDIA GeForce 8300 GS"

The arrival of the GeForce 8600 and 8300s have been widely rumored for some time now to be launching next month, but the GeForce 8800 Ultra is a new item. It looks like NVIDIA's got a new GPU ready in the pipeline to take on ATI's R600, which has been delayed until Q2'07.
