Do those power lines need to be exclusively for the vid card or can you use one line with two connectors on it?
I know with ye ol' 6800 it is recommended that the line doesn't have anything else connected to it.

If possible two different but it will work with two the same. This comes from that people with the AGP version tend to not have a PCIe power connector on their PSU. As if you do it's only one connector. PCIe connector is six pins, your therefore you need two 4 pins.

Hmm $60 difference to play ETQW, maybe some TF2 at 1280x1024....

The lack of memory might potentially hurt the 7900GS, but otherwise it's still generally slower than the X1950 Pro by a fair amount in some cases.

Heck, the price difference buys you the Game! Go for the 7900GS! OR, wait until I buy the upcoming 8800GT, and I can get you a really good deal on a used 7900GS.
