GDDR3 and DDr2

Ok, I am going to upgrade my old Leadtek GeForce 6800 256MB 256-bit DDR PCI Express x16 SLI Supported Video Card with an ASUS GeForce 8800GTX 768MB 384-bit GDDR3 PCI Express x16 HDCP Ready SLI Supported Video Card. My M/B will support PCI Express x16 but only supports DDR2 memory.

Does anyone know if I can run a GDDR3 graphics card with DDR2 memory?

FYI...I am putting together another system with the 9800gtx video card. I just wanted to keep this computer around a little longer.

Yes, DD2 is the CPU system RAM, GDDR3 is for the cards GPU's memory.

Might as well get 2 9800's. Looking at Newegg, the 9800gtx is the same or less cost than the 8800gtx. If you want less expensive, I'd get the Chem Recommended 8800gts (g92) version.

Newegg.com - EVGA 512-P3-N841-AR GeForce 8800GTS (G92) 512MB 256-bit GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Supported Video Card - Desktop Graphics
